From airport via subway:
Take the airport bus to the MTBA Blue Line. At Government Center, change from the Blue Line to the Green Line (going towards Park Street). At Park Street Station, change from the Green Line to the Red Line (towards Fresh Pond). Get off the T at Harvard Square Station. Catch the #72 electric trolley. The #72 trolley will take you to the corner of Appleton Street and Huron Avenue -- only steps from Sabbatical House’s front door.

From Harvard Square

By foot: There are two paths to 136 Appleton Street (approximately 15 minutes either way). Either walk up Brattle Street to Appleton Street. Turn right. Then walk up the hill and down the hill. 136 Appleton Street is at the bottom of the hill, just before you reach Huron Avenue. Or, walk up Garden Street, past the Cambridge Commons. You will pass the Christ Church on the left (so make sure to inspect the bullet hole from the Revolutionary War that still mars the front of the building), and the Sheraton Commander Hotel (with the big red lettered sign). Just after the Sheraton, the road will fork at the (xxxxx) monument. Take the left fork, which is Concord Avenue. Walk up 2 lights to Concord Avenue. You will pass Harvard’s Astronomy Building on the right. Turn left. Follow around the bend to the 3 stores on the left. Formaggio’s, Halli’s Flowers, and the Fishmonger. That is the corner of Appleton Street. Turn left. The house is directly behind the stores.

By bicycle: Same directions as by foot. You will be happy to learn there is a bicycle lane! Wear a helmet!

By bus: #72 bus leaves Harvard Square every 15 minutes, traveling up Concord and Huron Avenues. The bus stop is directly on the corner in front of Formaggio’s Kitchen.

By car: Same directions as by foot.
